Exciting news! A long-anticipated residential project has been approved in the Town Center area of Wildwood. Located at the southwest corner of State Route 109 and State Route 100, this 50-acre site will feature a charming neighborhood developed by McKelvey Homes, a respected builder in the St. Louis region. Construction is expected to begin by the end of February, starting with tree removal, followed by phased grading of the site.

As a Wildwood resident and owner of Pick Wolf Realty, I’m excited about this development. I have seen the need for more housing options in Wildwood. This development will help meet the demand by offering high-quality homes for those looking to live in the area.

I’m familiar with McKelvey Homes, having toured and sold their properties. They are known for designing homes that complement their communities. McKelvey Homes has a history of delivering thoughtfully designed, well-built homes that fit within the neighborhoods they develop.

Wildwood has seen a tight housing market, limiting choices for those looking to move to or remain in the area. This new development will provide additional housing opportunities, ensuring that more people have options that suit their needs.

Increasing housing options also supports local businesses, schools, and community services, contributing to the long-term growth of Wildwood’s Town Center. More residents mean greater economic activity, helping sustain a thriving community.

I understand residents may have mixed feelings about this development. Change brings various perspectives, and it’s natural for people to wonder how this project will impact the community. Some may be excited about the new housing, while others may have concerns about maintaining Wildwood’s natural beauty. This project has been planned to align with Wildwood’s Master Plan, a vision for responsible growth that preserves the city’s unique character. The Town Center Plan, a key part of this strategy, guides development to enhance the community while respecting its surroundings. Importantly, the Town Center Area accounts for just 2% of Wildwood’s total 68-square-mile land area, meaning most of Wildwood will remain untouched by this project.
